It was another BIG week on the SWNN YouTube and Podcasting channels. Per usual, I cranked out three weekly shows catering to fans of all different kinds of Star Wars. This week, I was joined by our video game expert Jay for a comprehensive discussion over everything we know about the highly anticipated video game: Star Wars Outlaws. On Thursday, the other regular members of the SWNN Live crew (Luke and Jay) joined me to break down episode six of The Acolyte. This hour-long discussion saw everything from wild Osha theories to Vernestra Rwoh tangents, to Planet of the Apes impersonations.

Friday, I published a character spotlight video over the bounty hunter Dengar to accompany our own Josh’s weekly character spotlight article. You should check it out! And as always, the next episode of the SWNN Timeline Show dropped on Saturday morning. This week Luke and I began our journey through Young Jedi Adventures in the year 232 BBY. We had fun talking about so many easter eggs to be found within.

Star Wars Outlaws 

Jay and I had some serious fun talking everything from Star Wars Outlaws. We discussed each of the featured planets, characters we may want to see, the dogfighting components we have gotten glimpses of so far, and much more. However, It must be noted that I will absolutely go nuts on someone in this game if they harm my best buddy Nix.

I was curious which of the locations featured in the game Jay would be most interested in visiting, and I was a bit surprised by his answer: Canto Bight. However, after hearing him discuss the main character Kay Vess’s unique relationship with it I am rather intrigued.

There are two big time characters that have been revealed to be in the game: Lando and Qi’ra. I had to put Jay on the spot and find out which character he is most excited to interact with. I was not surprised by his answer, but I definitely feel strongly in the opposite direction. Which one are you all more excited to see?

SWNN Live!

Much like last week, this week’s episode of The Acolyte left us with much to discuss. One of those was the massive tone shift from the previous episode to this one. Jay and I had varied opinions on it. He felt it was too drastic of a switch that left the audience possibly disoriented, while I felt it was needed to dive into the characters from the pivotal moment we left them in. Here’s a short clip, but check out the full discussion.

This also led to my impression of “Bad Ape” from War for the Planet of the Apes. I am sorry I had to.

Massive questions existed from this episode on whether or not Vernestra is Qimir’s former Jedi Master. The show certainly seems to hint at it as Jay points out below.

Of course, there was also some discourse online about if Vernestra could be the real Sith Lord lurking in the shadows. I have to stomp this blasphemy out right now! Of course, if you are unfamiliar with the High Republic books I don’t blame you for thinking that given how meh, bland, and foreboding they are making her character seem right now.

Lastly, Luke brought the HOT TAKE of the night with his thoughts on Osha/Tenebrous.

The Timeline Show

The Timeline show is always an incredible case of good vibes. Come here for a relaxed show discussing the next story on the Star Wars timeline.  Luke and I are going through it all in order and breaking down every story, show, movie etc. Yes, we are actually reading and watching everything. Please send help. We got started with some Young Jedi Adventures this past week. After Yoda sent some younglings on a trivial mission this began us diving into the hard hitting questions about the Jedi Grandmaster… How bad does he smell?

There are so many easter eggs, callbacks, or just random things that trigger other Star Wars memories for us in YJA. One of those was during a Skiff race that took place, and Luke compared it to some good ol fashioned podracing.

Lastly, it’s not every day the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order comes to speak with your youngling class. However, for Kai, Lys, and Nubs this just meant another boring lecture they could skip to attempt a course record in the training room.
