Turn on Disappearing Messages in Facebook Messenger on Android and iOS

• Open Facebook Messenger, and enter the chat you want to enable disappearing messages for.
• Then, tap on the profile name displayed at the top of the screen to get into chat settings.

• Next, scroll down in here to find the Disappearing messages panel at the bottom.
• It’s turned off by default, tap on it, and finally, tap on 24 hours and head back into the chat.

• Disappearing messages are on for you now, and you will see the notification that disappearing messages have been enabled for this chat on Messenger.

• Head over to Facebook on any desired browser of yours and visit the profile you want to turn on disappearing messages for.
• Then, click on the blue Message icon being displayed to the right of your screen.

• That will summon a small window at the bottom displaying your messages with the person.

• In this window, click on the Facebook profile name of the person which has a small down arrow adjacent to it.
• That will summon a window with a list of options on the left. Scroll down here to find the Disappearing Messages panel and click on it.

• Finally, in the pop-up window, select 24 hours and click on Done. That will instantly enable disappearing messages on Facebook for the particular chat.
