While Apple’s own models, both those that will run locally on the device and those that will run on the company’s private cloud, handle most of Apple Intelligence’s functionalities, Apple has shown its intention to collaborate with third parties to integrate the leading AIs in the market into the operating system.
One of the first participants in this integration should be Google Gemini, which was already rumored before the presentation of iOS. In this context, Meta’s AI also seems to want to be available. Something that will undoubtedly please more than one user, because as soon as iOS 18 officially arrives, we will be able to choose which AI model we use when working with text or asking Siri questions.
With the arrival of Apple Intelligence to iOS 18, when asking Siri for details that may go beyond its area of knowledge, the assistant will be able to offer to transfer the query to ChatGPT. The release of Apple Intelligence is scheduled for later this year as part of the iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia updates. It will initially start with support for American English and gradually expand to other languages and regions.
