Some users have reported that Facebook is down with the number of reports surging in the last hour.

About 40% of affected Facebook users have reported outages on the services website that appeared to skyrocket around 2 p.m. this afternoon.

About 37% of users are having issues with accessing the Facebook app and another 22% say they can’t login at all, according to Downdetector. “I’m having problems with sharing my memories.” The app appeared to suffer slight outages all throughout Friday, according to a chart that tracks user trouble shoot reports.

The number of outages reached a daily low at 5 a.m. with only about five user complaints.

“Not showing posts on news feed. Shows one or two, then blank. Have to keep refreshing, then it jumps and hides posts,” one wrote. Most users who were reporting problems said they had trouble accessing Facebook through the app. 

There were about 35-40 reported outages around 5 p.m. Thursday but rose to about 50 a few hours later at 11 p.m. Another user signaled he’s been having issues with the app for almost a week, writing: “No FB for the 4th day.” While there seems to be no major outage of the service, users took to X to complain about a wide range of problems.

“Is anyone else not able to view comments on Facebook or is it just me right now?” one wrote. The site’s parent company, Meta, appears to still be reeling from the scandalous privacy lawsuit in which it must pay millions in damages to users whose data wasn’t kept private.

Anyone who was a us Facebook user between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2022 is eligible for compensation.
