Magee Police Department chief announces resignation in Facebook post

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Magee Police Chief has resigned from the department.

The announcement was made over a post on the Magee Police Department’s Facebook page.

Chief Shane Little said, “I firmly believe that the City of Magee, its Board of Alderman, and the Magee Police Department have grown together to make a stronger and safer city. Knowing this has made the difficult decision of moving on a little easier.”

He goes on to say, “While I am formally resigning as the Chief of Police for this city, I still have high hopes and great expectations for the future of the Magee Police Department and the City of Magee.”

Little closed out the post by saying, “It has been an honor and a privilege.”

It is currently unknown the reasoning for Little’s resignation or who will act as chief in his absence.
