YouTube Boss Issues Message to MrBeast

Highlights

  • YouTube CEO Neal Mohan playfully congratulated MrBeast on reaching 300 million subscribers, joking he may hit 400 million before long.
  • MrBeast continues his philanthropic efforts, recently building and giving away 100 homes in Jamaica for families in need.
  • Despite surpassing T-Series in subscribers, MrBeast’s channel is still growing, with over 301 million subscribers as of July 2024.

After Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson reached 300 million subscribers on YouTube, the site’s CEO, Neal Mohan, posted a congratulatory message on social media. While MrBeast did not respond to the YouTube boss at the time of writing, Mohan jokingly stated that by the time the post went up, the famed content creator would be closer to 400 million subscribers.

MrBeast is known for innovative video content, business ventures, and participating in philanthropic causes to help individuals and families in need. Following the rise of T-Series as the most subscribed YouTube channel, MrBeast stated in early 2023 that his goal was to have more subscribers than the India-based media company. MrBeast said he would “avenge” fellow content creator PewDiePie, who T-Series passed for the title of most subscribed YouTube channel. Though it took over a year, MrBeast made good on his word in June 2024, as he passed T-Series to become the top channel on the platform. However, MrBeast’s channel has not stopped growing. As of July 2024, MrBeast had an estimated 301 million subscribers and counting.

As a result of MrBeast’s remarkable subscriber count, the CEO of YouTube reached out to offer congratulations on social media. On July 11, YouTube boss Neal Mohan jokingly posted on Twitter that he would offer congratulations on reaching 300 million subscribers and would have to correct it to be closer to 400 million by the time the post went live. The congratulatory message was a quote-tweet of MrBeast’s post concerning his 300 million subscriber milestone. Mohan succeeded Susan Wojcicki as CEO of YouTube in February 2023. At the time of writing, MrBeast had yet to respond to Mohan’s message. Following the milestone, MrBeast shared on social media that he remembered “freaking out” when he had 300 subscribers in 2013, much less 300 million over a decade later.

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan Congratulates MrBeast On 300 Million Subscribers

Even after reaching the latest subscriber milestone, the 26-year-old content creator shows no signs of slowing down. In a video posted on June 29, MrBeast was on-site in Jamaica to build and give away 100 homes for needy families. The homes were made with cooperation from local builders and organizations to ensure the homes would be sustainable, durable, and fully furnished with all the essential needs that families require. The video covered the construction process and shared the reactions of all the families that received new homes. The video received over 88 million views in two weeks.

After crossing the 300 million subscriber threshold and setting a daily subscriber record, the sky is seemingly the limit for MrBeast. What he and his team will do in future projects remains to be seen.
