LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Many animals stopped by the Iowa Library in Iowa Library Thursday.
The library was packed with kids and adults, who had the chance to learn hands-on about birds, reptiles and marsupials with the Schoolhouse Safari – An Interactive Educational Animal Encounter.
Guests took part in a question-and-answer session with the handlers and had the option to take an individual photo with one of the animal ambassadors.
“We just bring different animals and show them to kids and tell them a little bit about them just to spread the awareness and love for animals,” said Heather Bellomy, Manager/Animal Handler.
The animals and handler will return Friday at 10 a.m. to the Iowa Library and at 3 p.m. at the Central Library on West Claude Street.
