Prime Day 2024 is just days away. If you’re here, you’re looking to get an early look at the summer’s hottest savings event and for all the info on how best to put your Prime membership to use.

While the 2-day event won’t officially be starting until next week on July 16, you can already start shopping. We’re already tracking some early discounts that are offering the best prices of the season on everything from the latest tech to appliances, headphones and so much more.

You don’t have to wait for Prime Day to find incredible deals from Amazon. Below, find a few a few of our favorite discounts from the retailer that are up for grabs right now — many of which are already seeing the deepest discounts of the season.

Amazon, of course, is also leading the way on the early Prime Day deals by discounting tons of its in-house products. From Echo speakers to Ring doorbells and more, some of the best prices yet are already up for grabs.

Prime Day is also a great opportunity to refresh your kitchen with some new appliances. Below you’ll find some of the best discounts yet on everything from stand mixers to air fryers and so much more.

Ahead of Prime Day, you’ll also be able to save on a collection on headphones and earbuds from some of our favorite brands! Including highlights from Beats, Samsung and Sennheiser, the personal audio deals are starting to kick off ahead of the 16th.

There are also tons of other early Prime Day deals on all things home goods, travel, tech and so much more.

Amazon Prime Day is a sale event exclusively for Prime members in the summer. It features two days of special savings on thousands of items across all product categories.

Amazon has officially announced that Prime Day will be running on July 16 and 17. That’s no surprise, as we typically see the summer sale go live during that second or third week of July. This year’s event will start on Tuesday, as it has in past years, and will run through the end of Wednesday.

For the past several years, Amazon Prime Day has also spanned two days. Before 2020, Prime Day always took place in July, but the sale was delayed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, causing Prime Day to take place in October instead. In 2021, the event returned to summer with a June date, and in 2022 and 2023, Prime Day took place in July.

Recently, Amazon has held similar sale events at other times of the year to expand the reach of its Prime-only offers. The first-ever Big Spring Sale took place this past March, and the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event was held in October 2023 ahead of the holiday season.

First things first: Make sure you have an Amazon Prime membership. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial, after which your membership will cost $15 per month or $139 per year. In addition to fast, free two-day shipping, you’ll also have access to Prime Video, ad-free music streaming, unlimited photo storage and unlimited Prime Reading. Many of Prime Day’s best deals, including Lightning Deals (we’ll get to those in a second), are only available to Prime members.

Once your membership is all squared away, you should also take some time to ensure your payment methods, including 1-Click settings and default delivery, are up to date so that you can snag your desired deals in a timely fashion.

Additionally, Prime members can set up deal alert notifications related to their recent Amazon searches and recently viewed items on the Amazon app between now and the event. Once Prime Day begins, members will receive push notifications on any available deals.

Alexa will also be able to provide notice of deals 24 hours before they go live to everyone when you create a Wish List, add items to your cart or save them for later. These items can also be purchased via Alexa.

While the early deals are beginning to pour in, you’ll want to bookmark and check out the Amazon Deals page, where all the items included in the sale should continue to appear. Be sure to check early and often on the big day; Prime Day deals will likely sell out quickly, and new deals will be added throughout the sale event.

You’ll also find Amazon’s famed Lightning Deals on the aforementioned page (you can filter your view so that you only see Lightning Deals using the panel on the left side of the page).

It’s also worth checking out items you’ve already purchased from Amazon to see if any recurring orders are on sale. Prime Day will see just everything under the sun discounted, and that also means things like paper towels, shampoo, toothpaste and all kinds of products that you were likely going to buy again anyway. So checking out the Buy Again deals feed is a great way to save some cash in the process.

Amazon hasn’t officially announced any specific deals, but during previous Amazon sales, we saw savings that ran the gamut from electronics and major appliances to small household items. Based on what we saw this March during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, here are some of the deals we expect to occur this year.

• Bissell Little Green Pet Deluxe Portable Carpet Cleaner: This cult-favorite carpet cleaner, which also works wonders in the car, is particularly good at taking care of pet stains, and it hit its lowest price this past spring.

• iRobot Braava Jet M6: If you’re looking to outsource floor cleaning in your home, invest in this version of our favorite robot mop. In March, it was a dollar off the lowest price we’ve seen.

• Breville Pizzaiolo Smart Pizza Oven: Our pick for the best pizza oven returned to its lowest price in March.

• Amazon Echo Buds: A pair of Echo Buds were 30% off in March, matching the lowest price ever. Plus, premium noise-canceling options were on sale too.

• Canopy Humidifier Ultimate Hydration Bundle: This editor-favorite humidifier is pretty enough to display, plus it’s equipped with filters and aroma-diffusing capabilities. In March, the bundle with replacement filters and essential oils was down to 45% off.

• Sony WH-1000XM4: Our pick for best headphones was down to a new low price in both blue and black colors.

Amazon’s Prime Day isn’t the only big sale to look out for, as many other major retailers will likely be offering discounts also.

While we recommend Amazon as the go-to for many of the items listed above, both Walmart and Target will be slashing prices on many electronics, home goods and more to near (or better than) Amazon pricing. Last July, both offered major savings on a huge range of products to coincide with Prime Day.

Electronics giant Best Buy will likely also compete with Prime Day deals; in the past, the retailer offered up to $300 off select laptops, $200 off select MacBooks, up to $350 off select gaming desktops and up to 50% off select small kitchen appliances.

For those looking for deep discounts on furniture and home appliances, Wayfair will likely be the place to find the best deals. We anticipate the retailer will be offering sales of up to 60% off — the same savings it offered previously — on the same dates as Prime Day.
